NOCN Functional Skills Maths Level 1 is designed for learners who want to develop practical mathematical skills for everyday life, employment and further education. The qualification focuses on applying mathematics confidently to real-world situations, helping learners build the knowledge and skills needed both in the workplace and in daily life.
Throughout the course, learners develop their understanding of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, measurements, geometry, data handling and problem-solving. Assessments are based on practical scenarios that encourage learners to interpret information, carry out calculations and make informed decisions using mathematics in realistic contexts.
This qualification is ideal for adults returning to education, learners progressing from Entry Level 3 or anyone wishing to improve their mathematical skills for work or further study.
