Cambridge International IGCSE Turkish (First Language) (0513) is designed for learners whose first language is Turkish. The course develops the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively through reading and writing while encouraging learners to become confident, independent users of the language.
Learners develop a wide-ranging vocabulary and strengthen their grammar, spelling and punctuation while studying a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts. They learn to analyse how writers use language to achieve different effects, evaluate ideas and information, and write effectively for different audiences and purposes.
This qualification provides an excellent foundation for further study, including Cambridge International AS & A Level Turkish and other humanities subjects. It develops critical thinking, analytical and communication skills while encouraging learners to read widely and appreciate the richness of the Turkish language and its literature.
